The City of Souls

A town just outside of San Francisco California and covering only two square miles is known world wide as the “City of Souls”.  Colma, California has just over 1400 residents and 1.5 million “souls”.  Colma has an old world charm with a Spanish-Mediterranean motif.

Colma has 16 cemeteries, which reflect the diverse bay area population. Italian, Catholic, Greek, Orthodox, Serbian, Japanese and even a pet cemetery are just a few that are located within the city.

It is the final resting place for many famous underground residents. Wyatt Earp - a western marshal, Joe DiMaggio and “Lefty” Francis O’Doul - both baseball greats, Levi Strauss - Levi Jeans, Etienne Guittard – Chocolate manufacturer and Cyril Magnin – I Magnin stores.

As the locals say "It's great to be alive in Colma."
