It was love at first sight for
Don and Maxine Simpson from Bakersfield, California. They met in a bowling alley in 1952 and
married the same year.
They spent their last moments
side by side in adjoining hospice beds.
He was 90 and she was 87. Maxine died and four hours later Don joined
her. Their granddaughter Melissa Sloan
says that Don Simpson’s soul left with her.
