Homeless people are not just located in a few cities but
widespread through many countries. The homeless are often people who have lost
everything they own and have given up on society. In many cases society has given up on
them.
Living in the streets or in a shelter is hard and if you are
sick it is harder. If you are in your
finale stages of an illness and are dying it is almost impossible. Lucky for some St. Michael’s Hospital in
Toronto has a new program that takes end-of-life care to the homeless and
vulnerable with a mobile palliative care program.
Hopefully more cities will mirror their efforts. A chain is only as strong as its weakest
link and we are all connected.
