The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs gives qualifying
survivors and children a tax- free Survivors Pension Benefit if the deceased
veteran met certain requirements.
The time period which the veteran served and if they were
enlisted during wartime will matter.
Eligibility is also based on your family’s income, if the spouse has
ever remarried and how old the children are.
